St Pete LL division info

**Tee Ball - Little League Baseball**

We will have 2 divisions by age group:

PeeWee - Ages 4 & 5
Rookie - Ages 6 & 7

Learning the fundamentals of baseball in all aspects. Working with the players to start their journey as well rounded skilled ball players. Learning to focus and fair play is essential.

**Minor - Coach/Machine Pitch - Little League Baseball**

**Ages 6 - 8**
Beginner level, learn to throw, catch, field and base running skills. Maintaining focus and fair play. Full Game from Machine pitch / Coach pitch.

**Minor - Player Pitch - Little League Baseball**

**Ages 7 to 10**( 11yo can play if beginning their baseball journey )

Play full games, players learning to pitch and advancing their knowledge of throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and running the bases. Basic Fundamentals of baseball are essential at this level.
Our coaches will always be on hand to decide if a player is ready for (player pitch) or (machine pitch).
The continuation of becoming a highly skilled, competitive baseball player and maintaining the core teachings of Little League Baseball.

**Majors- Little League Baseball**

**Ages 9 - 12 -**Comptetive Full games - Refinement for the next level

The Official “Little League”, highly skilled in all core baseball fundamentals. Pitchers will be able to pitch efficiently and using the whole body in throwing. Advanced baseball skills and training are introduced at this level, beyond the basics of Minors level. The ability to hit to all fields, bunting and pitch recognition will be focused at this level.

** 50 / 70 **
**Ages 11 - 13 **

Intermediates is played on Little League fields, but the pitching rubber and bases are pushed back to 50 and 70 feet, rather than the 45 and 60 feet that is used for Majors and lower. Sometimes this divisions is referred to as “50/70” rather than Intermediates. It is targeted at ages 11-13 who are ready for a more advanced level of play and bigger field that the Majors division.

FALL Baseball 2023

Once you have registered your player, practices will start at the beginning of August 2023.

If you have any questions regarding tryouts or team placement please contact the league directors for getting started.

This Fall 2023 Season will start earlier than normal so sign-up today to avoid missing out on some baseball fun. Season start will be approximately from mid-August (with practices beginning almost immediately) and ending regular season around Thanksgiving with a possible post season fun tournament of some kind shortly thereafter (ask your coach about this as it's currently TBD). Make sure to check with your coaches on exact dates as they become available so you can keep your schedule free for the games and tournaments.

Additionally, please check your registration emails for additional information that may be needed for the upcoming season such as paperwork that is needed, registration payment, contact information and any other details that may be beneficial to you as a new or returning player and family to St Pete Little League.
